Our Staff

Hello, my name is Ted Griffith and I started working with my great uncle Donald Powell and my father Bill Griffith at Powell Seeds LLC in 1992. I have detasseled seed corn since 1978 when my father joined the family business. Over the years I have seen many changes in farming, the seed industry and our own business. The one thing that has been constant is a great group of customers to work with.

I graduated from Ada High School and The Ohio State University. At Ohio State I studied Agriculture Economics and was a member of the Ohio State marching band.

After college and joining Powell Seeds LLC, I was elected to the Hardin County Soil and Water District Board of Supervisors and the Hardin County Farm Bureau Board of Trustees. In addition I served 9 years on the Ohio State Lima Board of Trustees. I currently am a member of the Liberty National Bank Board of Directors.

I have three children: Tess, TJ and Téa. We are members of the First United Methodist Church of Ada. When there is time I love to play golf.

I truly enjoy farming and agriculture. In addition I have enjoyed the friendships that I have made through the business. I get true satisfaction from helping our customers be successful. To achieve this I am passionate about bringing our customers the best products and service.

Hello, my name is Doug Griffith. I grew up in the family seed business helping with the field work and in the seed plant. I went to Ohio State where I earned a B.S. in Agronomy. From there, I went to the University of Illinois where I completed a master's degree in Agronomy.

After college I embarked on a 27-year career in planting breeding, agronomy, and seed product management with Holden's Foundation Seeds and Monsanto in the States of Iowa, Indiana and Missouri.

I retired in 2017 and my wife and I moved back to Ohio. I came back into the family business and am focused on seed production, selecting new hybrids and varieties, and working with our customers on product selection and agronomic issues.

I am a big Ohio State sports fan and my wife and I like to travel. I enjoy helping our customers select the right seed products for their farm and answering their agronomic questions.
